Holiday Cards<br />

Give your very own handmade greeting cards this<br />
holiday season. Students will learn how to make<br />
single and/or multi-colored prints in the form of a<br />
card. Let your creativity run away as you turn your<br />
own images into printed masterpieces. All skill<br />
levels are welcome to join the fun of hand printing<br />
and using the Vandercook printing press. A variety of ways to use the relief<br />
printing medium will be explored as creativity leaps in honor of the holiday<br />
Glass Holiday Ornaments<br />

Tuition: $75 / Supply Fee: $40<br />
Add color and light to your holiday season with your own<br />
glass holiday ornaments. Experiment with colored glass, frit<br />
and kiln-carving to create multiple ornaments. The kilncarving<br />
technique uses shapes cut with scissors from fiber<br />
paper. The glass is then melted over your images to achieve a<br />
beautiful, intricate design with little glass cutting required.<br />
Youth Classes<br />
Pencil Drawing for Kids : ages 7-11<br />

Tuition: $25<br />
Join <strong>Grand</strong>pa David Hahn to learn the basics of drawing<br />
in this fun, introductory four-week class. Together we will draw a variety of still<br />
life objects while working on different drawing techniques including 3-D, realism,<br />
still life, and landscape. Drawing is the foundation of all art media, so jump-in<br />
and build skills that will last a lifetime.<br />
Young Adult Clay: ages 12-18<br />

March 2-23: 4 Fridays: 3:15-5:15pm<br />
Tuition: $25<br />
Students will explore the ceramic process while having fun<br />
and sharing ideas in this class designed specifically for young<br />
adults. The primary focus will be on hand-building and<br />
using the pottery wheel to create finished pieces. The first<br />
three classes will focus on building and the last class will be dedicated to glazing<br />
work. For beginners and those with experience, all will build their pottery skills.<br />
Youth Masterpieces<br />

Session 2 (ages 9-12): 1-4pm<br />

Together we will explore various famous artists, their<br />
unique styles and paintings. We will use this knowledge as a springboard to create<br />
our own masterpieces, using a variety of media: collage, watercolor, oil pastel,<br />
and acrylic paint. Students will learn about the language of art: the elements and<br />
principles that make a work of art come to life.<br />

Pre-register: $60<br />
Drop-in Fee: $20/session<br />
High-quality art instruction by a rotating roster of<br />
local artists will be hosted in the professional <strong>Art</strong><br />
<strong>Colony</strong> studios. Each Friday, students will receive<br />
an introduction to a different art medium including<br />
clay, glass, printmaking and watercolor. All materials<br />
are provided. Pre-register to receive a discount on all<br />
classes or drop-in per session. Need a minimum of eight pre-registered students to<br />
host this class.<br />

This is the perfect opportunity for kids to enjoy<br />
summer art fun in the big studio. A variety of exciting techniques and activities<br />
will be introduced and explored. Students will create art with a variety of<br />
mediums including drawing, painting, printing, collage and mixed media, giving<br />
them the basis for future artistic expression.<br />

Take a trip through the art of drawing and watercolor<br />
painting as we explore still life, portraiture and<br />
landscapes. First draw it and then make it come alive with color. Bring a good<br />
pointed #10 brush, #HB or softer pencil and an eraser, we’ll provide the paper and<br />
paints. You’ll love what you’ll learn.<br />
