Digital Photography 1, 2 FPCP/FPFP 9-12 f 10 units/year<br />

1 Class Period<br />
This course is designed to provide students with a solid grounding in digital photographic essentials focusing on the power of<br />
contemporary software tools such as Adobe Photoshop. Students will have hands-on access to the latest photographic equipment.<br />
Instruction covers digital photography essentials, lighting, set design, studio configuration, lighting, field issues, camera operation,<br />
software interfaces, and color management. Students may enroll in a second year for more advanced instruction. (Black & White and<br />
dark room special effects are used at Irvington).<br />
Digital Photography 3 FPIP 9-12 f 10 units/year<br />
Prerequisite: Completion of Photography 1 & 2 with C or better or teacher's approval; and access to 35 mm camera.<br />
This course is designed to provide experience in wet lab and digital. Students will critique work and exhibit finished products.<br />
Students will visit galleries and museums.<br />
Digital Photography 4 FPLP 9-12 f 10 units/year<br />
Prerequisite: Completion of Photography 1 & 2 with C or better or teacher's approval; and access to a 35 mm camera.<br />
Advanced Photography provides experienced photography students instruction in alternative and traditional aspects of fine art<br />
photography. Students will investigate career paths and individualized interests in photography, with concentration on diverse<br />
photographic portfolios. Students will learn to use medium and large format cameras, advanced lighting techniques, and gain<br />
knowledge of contemporary photo events and concerns. Students will be required to publicly exhibit their artworks, seek exhibitions<br />
and applicable competitions for their work. Expenses will be incurred in the purchase of discounted film, printing paper and exhibition<br />
materials for production of their artwork. A lab donation will be requested to cover the cost of chemicals and additional course<br />
materials.<br />
Digital Graphics TCSA 11-12 10 units/year<br />
1 Class Period<br />
Digital Graphics follows a lecture/demo/lab format. Instruction focuses on the creation of visual content, concept, design, project<br />
development, and production and technique via computer graphics, illustration, and digital imaging. Students produce art work using<br />
cutting-edge photo editing, illustration, design, and layout software such as: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and QuarkXpress.<br />
Students will learn to work in different color modes, and to develop knowledge of the standards and requirements for different media<br />
output including print, CD-ROM and the Web.<br />
Computer Animation TANA 11-12 10 units/year<br />
1 Class Period<br />
Students will study video, web, game and film animation in 2D and 3D. Adobe After Effects, Alias Wavefront, Maya and<br />
Macromedia Flash are all offered emphasizing timelines, key frames, layers and interactivity. Class projects include the creation of<br />
virtual video backgrounds, special effects for video, e-cards and web animations.<br />
Computer Art A FCAG 10-12 10 units/year<br />
Digital Photography<br />
Prerequisite: Art 1, Photo 1 or Teacher Approval.<br />
This course uses PhotoShop to create art work on the computer. Students will learn scanning and digital photography. They will<br />
manipulate images by compositing and drawing on the image in the computer. Projects include a wide range of topics and subjects.<br />
Web Design Technology TCWA 11-12 10 units/year<br />
1 Class Period<br />
Explore web design as you incorporate graphics, sound, movies, and animation. Students will learn all phases of the design process<br />
from the idea state, through planning, production and testing while creating original web sites. Learn design concepts for content and<br />
layout as you design commercial web pages.<br />
Beginning Video Production FBVP 10 g 10 units/year<br />
Prerequisite: Intro to Multimedia/Computer Operations.<br />
Students of Beginning Video Production will gain the knowledge, understanding, and practical experience of creating video<br />
productions using ENG (electronic news gathering), EFP (electronic field production), and Television Studio techniques. Students will<br />
work in a variety of production positions over the course of the year’s study. Students will gain an understanding of the history of<br />
video production by looking at the changes in equipment and production techniques over the years. Students will develop basic skills<br />
in camera techniques, audio production, directing, digital non-linear editing, script writing, lighting, set design, and a wide variety of<br />
other skills required to create a finished video production.<br />
