The Child’s Rights Center is a citizens’ association based in Belgrade,
founded in 1997. The Center deals with the promotion and development
in realization of child rights in Serbia in accordance with the Convention
on the Rights of the Child and other international documents.
At the very beginning of the Centre’s operation, the group of children
and youth named Deca–deci (Children to Children) was also created.
At the beginning of 2002, merging of this group with the group of
youth who had attended the School for Media organized by the Centre,
resulted in the creation of a youth’s club named Children’s Service for
Information and Culture — DX.
DX deals with peer to peer education, youth’s media and organization
of the children and youth opinions’ survey supported by the Center.
Membership of the DX club consists of children and youth younger
than 18.
In 2004, the members of the DX group’s first generation founded a
separate association named the “OPA” Club (Omladina pokreće akciju
— Youth Starting Action) where the DX members may continue their
work after they become of age.
