It was a great pleasure for me that Dunja and Vukan were just what
the Committee appreciated the most; an authentic and free source of
information from the children’s point of view. I was proud of them,
of their skill to provide meaningful and concise answers to all those
questions and influence the Committee members to incorporate
the subjects of that day’s conversation into their conclusions and
recommendations to Serbia. My colleagues were full of praise for both
the children’s report and for the conversation with Dunja and Vukan.
Being witness to their conversation with the Committee was one
of the nicest events in my 6 year membership in that body. For that
conversation demonstrated, among other things, that the Convention
would never be fully implemented until the children themselves are not
able to understand it, accept it and utilize it as a tool in the activities
aimed at realization of their rights.”
