In the course of a questionnaire preparation a special
attention should be paid on its structure, for a good structured
questionnaire facilitates data processing. Furthermore, it is
important for the questions to be written in a language that
children can understand and be phrased as precisely as possible
in order to avoid problems during the data processing. Tables
and long questions should be avoided. When distributing the
questionnaires, it is necessary to give detailed instructions
to the interviewers. Whenever possible, they should be
experienced in interviewing and in working with children.
The questions need to be adjusted to the specific characteristics
of each separate focus group. It turned out that the voice
recording facilitates the process of gathering and later
processing of the data (if a focus group is being recorded, one
needs to obtain the agreement of the participants first).
Making of the Reports
The data gathered in the research were processed, systematized and
analyzed with the support of the Coordinator. Apart from the research
data that provided a cross section of the present situation, the Report
included some previously made research studies and experiences of the
Coalition members. Based on thus consolidated data, the report entitled
“The Rights of the Child in Serbia — the Children’s Perspective” was
prepared. Apart from the research results, the Report includes both the
