In whatever way you can show
support, whether being physically

Many young alumnae are
beginning their careers or starting
families, so it can be hard for
involvement but there is a vibrancy
with recent alumnae. We need your
energy and enthusiasm.

Sales Academy is a powerful expression of your
faith in the future of the school. An estate gift
provides significant future support to Mount de
Sales Academy. You can provide for the school in
your will or in a trust. The full value of a bequest
is deductible for federal estate tax purposes, and
there is no limit to the size of a bequest.
Bequests may be general in nature or restricted
for a specific purpose. All assets, including cash,
securities, real estate and tangible personal
property, may be transferred to Mount de Sales
Academy through your estate. You may also wish
to consider naming the school as the beneficiary of
your qualified retirement plan or a life insurance

appreciated securities, that have been held
for more than twelve months, and give
them as a gift to Mount de Sales Academy,
you can benefit by:
• Claiming a charitable income tax
deduction for the full value of the
shares; and
• Avoiding the capital gains tax that
would have been due if the shares
were sold.
Please consult your tax attorney or tax
preparer for the deductibility of your gift.
Circumstances will vary with income and
other factors.
Gifts of stock are sold upon receipt. You
will be credited for the value of the stock
on the date the gift is made and a receipt is
generated that reflects that value.
Your Participation ALWAYS Matters
Each year since 2005, as graduation nears, the
Office of Alumnae Relations hosts the Senior
class for a special luncheon in Alumnae Hall.
This event serves as an official welcome into the
Alumnae Association and the seniors are invited
to attend the numerous activities planned for
our young Alumnae.
After hearing about the Senior Luncheon event,
the class leaders in 2008 asked if they could
use the opportunity to invite their classmates
to pledge support to Mount de Sales for the
following four years. The Your Participation
ALWAYS Matters campaign was born.

Matters, our student giving campaign, which is
highlighted on pages 16 and 17 of this issue. We

They are the best ambassadors
to speak of the school and are
witnesses by successfully upholding
the school's values.

ways Mount de Sales Academy
Alumnae can be involved at their
alma mater?
Through mentoring students. There
are a number of alumnae who serve
as teachers. I also enjoy when
Alumnae are present at things like
school retreats.
