Teaching and Learning Between
Congregants and Students - A Big Hit
As we continue to learn from and about
the many different aspects of our Congregation
through our theme of The Second Year of The
Temple Community, in our classrooms we are also
continuing to learn about our traditions. Below
is an example from our 4 th grade of their study
of how traditions are created in a family through
the study of life cycles and holiday celebrations.
Our 4 th graders studied about death and dying.
As part of their study they thought about what
they would want said about them in a Eulogy.
My Eulogy
I was proud of my life. I was a great daughter,
mother and grandmother. I had 3 children
named Joanie, Miley and Scott. I had 2 dogs
which my children loved. I will always remember
my husband William. I had 6 grandchildren
over all. I owned a summer house in Florida. I
lived in Maine. I randomly had braces when I
was 17. I became a famous singer and dancer.
I spoke 6 different languages. I graduated from
Princeton University. I wrote a book called
“Why Chances”. I loved my life.
Kindergarten students learn to play
First graders meet with
“What does a Rabbi Do?”
Third graders take canned food and
