Jonah was born on October 6,<br />

1998 in Nashville. His parents are Betsy<br />

and Seth Hoffman. His grandparents<br />

are: Raye Ann and Ralph Greenbaum of<br />

Nashville, Arlyne Dondis of Jacksonville,<br />

Florida and the late Ed Hoffman of Rockland, Maine.<br />

For his Mitzvah Project, Jonah is raising awareness and<br />

funds for Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary in Gainesville,<br />

Florida.<br />

Jonah is in seventh grade at University School of<br />

Nashville. His special interests include spending his summers at<br />

Camp Timberlane, snowboarding, playing basketball and climbing<br />

as well as sur ng the web.<br />

Harvey Sperling<br />

Responding to the Educational Crisis:<br />

<strong>The</strong> School for Science and Math at Vanderbilt University<br />

Harvey Sperling is well-known to many of you as the former<br />

Director at University School of Nashville.<br />

Previously, he had served as Headmaster at the<br />

University School of Milwaukee and more recently<br />

was Educational Of cer for the Frist Foundation.<br />

Currently, he is the educational consultant at the<br />

Vanderbilt Center for Science Outreach.<br />

His topic should be of great interest to everyone who<br />

cares about the education their children or grandchildren<br />

are receiving in the school system. This is a new and<br />

exciting concept in education; you don’t want to miss it!<br />

Lunches will be provided by<br />

Goldie Shepard at a cost of $12.<br />

Reservations for lunch are required.<br />
