E-<strong>SPA</strong>BC<br />
LUCY GRIFFITH, Vice President<br />
Lucy Griffith has ga<strong>the</strong>red many years of experience as a spa director, lecturer, assessor, subject specialist<br />
and in curriculum design. Over <strong>the</strong> past 3 years, Lucy has been working to raise <strong>the</strong> professionalism<br />
of <strong>the</strong> skin and body care industry within BC and Canada.<br />
Lucy is <strong>the</strong> Provincial Technical Chair for Skills Canada BC and represents BC on <strong>the</strong> National<br />
Technical Committee. Lucy was invited to join <strong>the</strong> Personal Services Industry Committee that was<br />
formed through Service Canada’s Labour Market Partnerships (LMP) <strong>program</strong> to move forward into<br />
standardizing industry training across BC.<br />
LOUISE DANNHAUER, Treasurer<br />
With twenty years experience in British Columbia’s Spa Industry, Louise brings a vast amount of<br />
knowledge to <strong>the</strong> E<strong>SPA</strong>BC board. Louise’s resume includes working with and managing teams in mid<br />
size to large day spas. Ongoing contract work training Es<strong>the</strong>ticians, Aroma<strong>the</strong>rapists and o<strong>the</strong>r Skin<br />
and Body Therapists in various modalities of massage and body treatments. Consulting with new spa<br />
owners to help <strong>the</strong>m build <strong>the</strong>ir brand.<br />
Louise has spent much of her career as an educator in reputable private and public schools teaching<br />
and inspiring new Es<strong>the</strong>ticians and Skin Therapists. She has served on a professional advisory board to help streng<strong>the</strong>n<br />
<strong>the</strong> level of training in BC and served for 3 years on <strong>the</strong> personal services industry board, commissioned by government<br />
to evaluate <strong>the</strong> current state of <strong>the</strong> industry. In 2001 Louise along with her sisters opened <strong>the</strong>ir own spa, Spa Time,<br />
which is successfully running 11 years later. Louise is one of <strong>the</strong> founding members of E-<strong>SPA</strong>BC, and looks forward to<br />
building an association that provides a voice to all members of <strong>the</strong> spa industry.<br />
HEATHER STEWART, Director<br />
Hea<strong>the</strong>r Stewart owns and directs Sage Transitions, a consulting company specializing in strategic<br />
planning, research, leadership and human resource development. In <strong>the</strong> past five years she worked<br />
with es<strong>the</strong>ticians and spa professionals throughout Canada to: conduct several research projects, develop<br />
<strong>program</strong>s and training outlines and prepare industry recommendations.<br />
Hea<strong>the</strong>r works with many industries and organizations throughout British Columbia, conducting primary<br />
and secondary research, developing strategic and human resource plans and facilitating retreats,<br />
workshops and consultations. Hea<strong>the</strong>r consults with healthcare, agriculture, human services, tourism, transportation<br />
trades and post-secondary institutions. She has many years of experience in research, training, human resource planning,<br />
career development and communications. Hea<strong>the</strong>r has a Masters in Education, is qualified to administer several<br />
psychometric instruments and has 35 years of knowledge and experience in leadership positions.<br />
IAN MACRAE, Director<br />
Ian MacRae, is an expert researcher with a Masters of Science MSc in Research Methods in Psychology<br />
from University College London. Ian has conducted research in a wide range of industries using innovate<br />
methods combined with new and emerging technology. Ian is also working at <strong>the</strong> forefront of<br />
his field in organizational psychology developing a psychological model, and <strong>the</strong> associated scientific<br />
tools, of personality and success at work.<br />
Ian joined <strong>the</strong> board of E-<strong>SPA</strong>BC to bring an analytical, evidence-based approach to <strong>the</strong> development<br />
of <strong>the</strong> es<strong>the</strong>tics industry in BC and is a very strong supporter of E-<strong>SPA</strong>BC’s mission to improve professionalism and<br />
standards for members and <strong>the</strong> industry as a whole.<br />
YOTA BALL, Director<br />
Yota Ball has over 20 years experience in <strong>the</strong> spa industry, specializing in Nail Technology. Yota is<br />
also trained in skin care and hair removal. After completing her es<strong>the</strong>tics training at Vancouver Community<br />
College and receiving industry experience, Yota completed her Provincial Instructor Diploma<br />
Program and taught at Blanche Macdonald for over 7 years. Yota coordinated a busy business schedule,<br />
while maintaining management of home, parenting/child activities, community commitments<br />
and mobile treatments. Yota is a an industry-passionate individual, who has <strong>show</strong>n strength and<br />
determination in <strong>the</strong> growth of our industry, standards and regulations.<br />
