The goal of every spa is to give great service. You see<br />

it on websites, on brochures, and a lot of people talk<br />

about it. What does “service superiority” really look like?<br />

Come to this session and you will see what you can do<br />

to make your service better than everyone else’s, and<br />

<strong>the</strong>n watch your bottom line grow.<br />

DOUG COBURN<br />

Douglas was <strong>the</strong> first male to graduate<br />

from <strong>the</strong> Ottawa Academy of Aes<strong>the</strong>tics<br />

and Hair, and as a mature student<br />

saw a gap in <strong>the</strong> industry when it<br />

came to men and spas. After co-creating<br />

The Little House Spa in rural<br />

Ontario, he ventured into <strong>the</strong> opening<br />

and operation and co-ownership of Canada’s largest<br />

men’s spa, Bodé Spa of Ottawa, Ontario. Currently he<br />

acts independently offering continuing education classes<br />

in male es<strong>the</strong>tics, consulting, writing and spa services<br />

in downtown Toronto and beyond. Douglas is a master<br />

waxing instructor, certified master pedicurist, reflexologist,<br />

public speaker, and educator.<br />

diversity you can bring to your pedicure with Reflexology.<br />

A re<strong>view</strong> of <strong>the</strong> basic principles of Reflexology<br />

including <strong>the</strong> way <strong>the</strong> body displays internal signals will<br />

be presented in this lecture, along with some hands-on<br />

exercises. Open your mind and your pedicure to one of<br />

<strong>the</strong> world’s oldest modalities.<br />

Diabetes & <strong>the</strong> Pedicure<br />

– A Deadly Combination?<br />

Diabetes is wreaking havoc on our population. Certainly<br />

as our population ages we as es<strong>the</strong>tic professionals are<br />

faced with a greater number of persons with this disorder.<br />

We can deliver effective pedicure care, however<br />

we must know what to watch for and design foot care<br />

around <strong>the</strong> problem. Is it not ironic that <strong>the</strong> feet being<br />

so important to us are <strong>the</strong> first to suffer if diabetes is left<br />

untreated? Doug Coburn will help you understand <strong>the</strong><br />

disease but also help you identify <strong>the</strong> diabetic client.<br />

Knowing what to do and how to approach a diabetic<br />

could truly save a foot, limb or life.<br />

Stacy Conlon has been in <strong>the</strong> sales and<br />

marketing field for over a decade. Currently,<br />

she consults with individuals<br />

and companies who serve <strong>the</strong> spa and<br />

wellness industries. She is a Certified<br />

Wellness Inventory Coach via Wellpeople<br />

and is <strong>the</strong> in-house Wellness<br />

Coach at Senspa in San Francisco. She is known as The<br />

Zen Girl in <strong>the</strong> social media world. Stacy is passionate<br />

about developing and implementing effective marketing<br />

strategies as well as wellness coaching because both avenues<br />

support companies and individuals in reaching<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir full potential. Combining her unique skill set as<br />

a marketer, educator and coach, Stacy is also a professional<br />

writer and speaker.<br />
