STUART MCNAUGHTON Professor Stuart McNaughton ONZM is New Zealand's Chief Education Scientific Advisor. He is also director of the Woolf Fisher Research Centre in the Faculty of Education at the University of Auckland. The Woolf Fisher Research Centre designs and tests effective educational programmes for culturally and linguistically diverse populations. Stuart is a member of the reading Hall of Fame and the International Literacy Association's Literacy Research Panel. ALEXIS MENTEN Alexis Menten is Executive Director of Partnership Development at the Asia Society Center for Global Education, which builds the awareness, will, and capacity for transforming education to prepare all students for employment and citizenship in a global era. Prior to Asia Society, Alexis led youth programs and educational technology initiatives in Central Asia and the Middle East. She is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College. ANNE MILLARD Anne Millard became Executive Director School and Preschool Improvement for the South Australian Department for Education and Child Development in 2014 after many years as an educator and regional director for South Australian public schools. She is responsible for the operational performance of education services that enable public schools and preschools to deliver quality education and care to children and students in South Australia. WATSON OHIA Watson Ohia has over 20 years of teaching experience, 12 of those years at Ngā Taiātea Wharekura. He is a graduate of Waikato University and a leading educationalist within the Waikato region. His school motto is Kia puta ki Taiātea – Empowered by our past, and present, to lead in the future. ISMAEL PALACÍN GINER Ismael Palacin Giner is General Director at Jaume Bofill Foundation, a think & do tank focused on next educational challenges, based in Barcelona, Spain. The Foundation develops research, programs and coalitions to improve educational policies and practices that overcome inequalities. Ismael was former manager at a children's rights NGO, leading innovative social programs on school achievement and communitybased inclusion. He is a Board member of several foundations and networks. 48
JEANETTE POPE Jeanette Pope has created an evidence base about young people in Australia that examines the challenges they will inherit related to the rapidly changing global economy, growing/ageing populations, rising inequality, climate change, etc. Her work shows we are not properly preparing young people for future work and to lead change. http://unlimitedpotential.fya.org.au/ KIM PROCTOR Kim Proctor is Acting/Director of the Futures Learning Unit within the New South Wales Department of Education, Australia. Kim has contributed to the implementation of major educational reforms in NSW including state-wide support for curriculum implementation, professional learning and rural and remote education strategies. STACEY QUINCE Stacey Quince is Principal of Campbelltown Performing Arts High School in Sydney, Australia and is currently working with the NSW Department of Education Futures Learning Unit. She has co-led a Learning Frontiers Hub to shift practice across communities of schools. Stacey is passionate about student and teacher learning, equity and disciplined innovation. MARK RAMSANKAR Mark Ramsankar was elected President of the Alberta Teachers Association in 2013 following two terms as vice-president. He served as president of Edmonton Public Teachers Local for four years and served the teachers of Edmonton in various capacities through local executive and committees. Mark, who was an assistant principal at Hardisty School in Edmonton, has teaching experience at all grade levels and in special education. He is a previous winner of the Excellence in Teaching Award. He represents the Association as Chair of the Alberta Education Teacher Development and Practice Advisory Committee. ROBERT RANDALL Rob Randall has been CEO of the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority since November 2012. He has worked on curriculum, assessment and reporting projects in New South Wales, Western Australia and nationally. Robert began his career as a teacher of mathematics in Perth. 49
