MEDITATION VERSE:
BUT WHEN THE FATHER SENDS THE
ADVOCATE AS MY REPRESENTATIVE—
THAT IS, THE HOLY SPIRIT—HE WILL
TEACH YOU EVERYTHING AND WILL
REMIND YOU OF EVERYTHING I HAVE TOLD
Who exactly is the Holy Spirit? We can picture God as
a loving Father. We follow Jesus and can read in the
gospels about a real person who walked the earth and
taught, loved, ate, slept, wept, and lived among us. He
is fairly easy for us to imagine, to grasp in our minds.
The Holy Spirit is much more of a mystery. So we
sometimes don’t think much about the Spirit. But
ignoring the Spirit can cause us to miss out on all that
God has for us as Jesus people.
The Spirit comes alongside us,
YOU. JOHN 14:26 helping us, changing us. The Bible ...IGNORING
urges us to be transformed. Jesus
said people would know us by the
“fruit” in our lives. That fruit, of love, joy,
patience and more, grows because
of the Spirit’s influence in our lives.
The Spirit has been called a Friend,
Counselor, Advocate, Comforter, and
more. But the Spirit’s comfort never
leaves room for complacency. When
we trust Jesus, He gives us the Holy
Spirit to guide us and change us into
people who are more like Jesus.
THE SPIRIT
CAN CAUSE
US TO MISS
OUT ON ALL
THAT GOD
HAS FOR US
AS JESUS
PEOPLE.
Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we become
people who obey God, and find joy in that obedience.
We obey because we are loved, and want to love in
response—and we are given divine power to love in a
new way. When we love in this way, in God’s way, our
lives our changed, because we are changed.
