Kenya have had a shaky start to this year’s
Sevens World Series being without a win
in the pool stage of the Dubai sevens
tournament. However, a finish as Bowl
Semi-finalists in Dubai and a fourth place
finish in Cape Town places the Kenyans
ninth on the World Series ladder, four
places higher than their overall finish in
last season’s series. It’s all about looking
for positives for the Kenyans and they’ll
be aiming to improve as the series moves
towards Wellington.

The Aussie team had a somewhat
disappointing start to the series in Dubai.
They finished up in sixth place only
narrowly missing out on a plate final win
in what was a nail-biting over-time match
against South Africa.
Although the team finished day one of the
Cape Town Sevens tournament unbeaten,
the Aussies were defeated by South
Africa and Fiji to finish the Cape Town
tournament in eighth place on the World
Series leader board. Despite these losses,
the Australian team have shown promise
in the opening games and will be looking
to improve their performance in the next
stages of the World Series circuit.
With a relatively new team, gaining
experience and developing new players
seems to be a priority for this Australian
side. The Australian team are not to be
underestimated as they work on their
execution in the coming matches.
