GREAT DATES IN FRANCHISE HISTORY<br />

AUGUST 23, 2008<br />

Two Fever players captured medals in the 2008 Olympics in<br />

Beijing, China. Tamika Catchings captured a second Olympic gold<br />

medal as the United States beat Australia, 92-65. Tully Bevilaqua<br />

earned her first Olympic medal, a silver.<br />

AUGUST 30, 2008<br />

For the first time in Fever history, three players score 20 points in<br />

the same game. Tamika Catchings had 23 points. Katie Douglas<br />

and Tammy Sutton-Brown each scored 21. Indiana downed<br />

Atlanta, 87-72.<br />

SEPTEMBER 2, 2008<br />

Indiana all but secured its fourth straight playoff berth by<br />

over<strong>com</strong>ing a halftime deficit and downing the Washington<br />

Mystics, 79-68, at the Verizon Center. Tamika Catchings finished<br />

with a season-high 26 points.<br />

SEPTEMBER 14, 2008<br />

Indiana set a team scoring record during a 103-89 win over<br />

Phoenix to end the regular season. Three players finished with at<br />

least 20 points: Tammy Sutton-Brown had 26, followed by 24 from<br />

Katie Douglas and 20 from Ebony Hoffman.<br />

SEPTEMBER 19, 2008<br />

Capping a season in which she averaged 10.4 points and 7.8<br />

rebounds, Ebony Hoffman was named the <strong>WNBA</strong>’s Most Improved<br />

Player. Hoffman finished fourth in the <strong>WNBA</strong> in rebounding and<br />

second in 3-point field goal percentage.<br />

SEPTEMBER 21, 2008<br />

Behind 27 points and 10 rebounds from Tamika Catchings,<br />

Indiana beat Detroit 89-82 to gain a 1-1 tie in its Eastern<br />

Conference Semifinal series.<br />

JUNE 26, 2009<br />

Katie Douglas scored a franchise-record 26 points in one half to<br />

almost single-handedly bring the Fever back from a 17-point deficit<br />

at New York. Indiana forced overtime on a last-second jumper by<br />

Tamika Catchings, and won 82-81 for its fifth straight win.<br />

JULY 15, 2009<br />

In front of 10,050 Kids Day fans for what was its largest regular<br />

season crowd of the year, Indiana defeated Chicago for its 10th<br />

consecutive victory, 84-74.<br />

JULY 17, 2009<br />

Behind 25 points from Katie Douglas, Indiana beat Atlanta 84-79<br />

to record its 11th consecutive win. The longest streak in Fever<br />

history, it was the seventh-longest in league history.<br />

JULY 25, 2009<br />

With Fever coach Lin Dunn and her staff patrolling the East<br />

sidelines, Tamika Catchings and Katie Douglas represented the<br />

Fever in the 2009 <strong>WNBA</strong> All-Star Game. The West defeated the<br />

East, 130-118.<br />

JULY 28, 2009<br />

Katie Douglas scored a franchise-record 34 points in an 85-81 win<br />

over the Washington Mystics, breaking the club’s seven-year mark<br />

of 32 points. Douglas made 15 of 16 free throws, shot 9 of 19 from<br />

the floor and added nine rebounds in the performance.<br />

JULY 30, 2009<br />

Matching the Fever’s previous scoring record with 32 points in a<br />

94-85 win over Connecticut, Katie Douglas became the first<br />

Indiana player ever to record consecutive games of 30+ points.<br />

She broke the franchise scoring mark two nights earlier.<br />

AUGUST 15, 2009<br />

As a part of its season-long 10th anniversary celebration, the<br />

franchise announced an all-decade team as chosen by its fans.<br />

Named to the team were Tully Bevilaqua, Tamika Catchings, Anna<br />

DeForge, Katie Douglas, Ebony Hoffman, Tammy Sutton-Brown,<br />

Stephanie White, Tan White, Tamika Whitmore and Natalie<br />

Williams.<br />

AUGUST 27, 2009<br />

The Fever got 20 points and eight rebounds from Tamika<br />

Catchings as the Fever downed San Antonio 77-66 to set a singleseason<br />

franchise record with its 12th consecutive home win.<br />

SEPTEMBER 16, 2009<br />

On the day the <strong>WNBA</strong> playoffs began, the Fever was saddened by<br />

the passing of co-owner Melvin Simon. To honor his memory, the<br />

Fever wore a black memory band across the shoulder of its<br />

jerseys through the remainder of the <strong>WNBA</strong> Playoffs.<br />

SEPTEMBER 19, 2009<br />

Tamika Catchings had 24 points and 16 rebounds as the Fever<br />

used overtime to beat the Washington Mystics, 91-74, and<br />

advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.<br />

SEPTEMBER 26, 2009<br />

In front of a capacity crowd courtesy of balcony seats purchased<br />

by Pacers president Larry Bird, the Fever beat the Shock 72-67 in<br />

Game 3 of the conference finals to claim its first Eastern<br />

Conference crown.<br />

SEPTEMBER 29, 2009<br />

In an historic Game 1 of <strong>WNBA</strong> Finals, Indiana fell 120-116 in<br />

overtime at Phoenix, in the highest-scoring game in <strong>WNBA</strong> history.<br />

Katie Douglas had four 3-pointers and 30 points to lead the Fever.<br />

Ebony Hoffman had 27 points and eight rebounds.<br />

OCTOBER 1, 2009<br />

Tamika Catchings’ 19 points led five Fever players in doublefigures<br />

as Indiana beat Phoenix, 93-84, in Game 2 of the <strong>WNBA</strong><br />

Finals. It was the first Finals victory in Fever history.<br />

OCTOBER 4, 2009<br />

Fever hosted its first <strong>WNBA</strong> Finals game in Indianapolis as Indiana<br />

took a 2-0 series lead in front of another sellout crowd at Bankers<br />

Life Fieldhouse. Indiana won Game 3 of the Finals, 86-85.<br />

OCTOBER 7, 2009<br />

In front of a third straight sellout crowd at Bankers Life Fieldhouse,<br />

Indiana lost Game 4 of Finals, falling 90-77 to the Mercury.<br />

OCTOBER 9, 2009<br />

In a deciding fifth game of the <strong>WNBA</strong> Finals, Tamika Catchings<br />

brought the Fever within a basket, 88-86, with 1:00 to play, but<br />

Phoenix scored eight free throws down the stretch to seal the<br />

out<strong>com</strong>e, 94-86. Tammy Sutton-Brown led Indiana with 22 points.<br />

Indiana began and ended 2008 with <strong>WNBA</strong> Eastern Conference Players of the Week – Katie Douglas and Tammy Sutton-Brown.
