Indiana’s fourth-year point guard began 2011 as a Fever<br />

starter, before sustaining a season-ending injury during her 10th<br />

game…she enters <strong>2012</strong> with career averages of 7.3 points and 3.0<br />

assists per game…January was heralded during her rookie<br />

campaign as being one of the best steals of the 2009 <strong>WNBA</strong> Draft<br />

…chosen by Indiana with the sixth overall selection, she exhibited<br />

court savvy, maturity, strong defensive skills and a good shooting<br />

touch…some of her best games came during the Fever’s 2009 run<br />

to the <strong>WNBA</strong> Finals, evidenced by playoff averages of 10.6 points<br />

and 3.0 assists per game…she is regarded as the club’s point<br />

guard of the future and should hold down starting backcourt duties<br />

alongside Aussie Olympian Erin Phillips.<br />

PRO-<strong>WNBA</strong><br />

2011: January started the team’s first ten games before tearing<br />

her right ACL and missing the remaining 24 games…she recorded<br />

her first career double-double with 12 points and 10 assists vs.<br />

Tulsa, 6/14…she had a career high four steals vs. Chicago,<br />

6/4…she finished her season with averages of 8.6 points and 5.0<br />

assists per game.<br />

2010: January appeared in 30 games with seven<br />

starts…initially thrust into the starting lineup for the Fever’s first<br />

two games, she served mostly as a spot starter and top backup to<br />

veteran point guard Tully Bevilaqua…she averaged 7.4 points, 2.0<br />

rebounds and 3.1 assists for the season…her top game featured<br />

season highs of 19 points and eight assists, while hitting 14 of 15<br />

free throws at Washington, 7/24…she had a second game with<br />

eight assists at Phoenix, 8/8…she posted nine games with doublefigure<br />

scoring.<br />

2009: Indiana’s first-round pick started four of 33 games in<br />

which she appeared…she averaged 6.9 points, 2.3 assists, 1.9<br />

rebounds and 1.09 steals per game…a season-high 17 points<br />

against Detroit, 8/15, included 7-for-8 from the free-throw line…in<br />

four games between 9/2 to 9/8, January averaged 13.8 points per<br />

game…she had nine double-figure games and had a season-high<br />

six assists in three different games…among <strong>WNBA</strong> rookie<br />

rankings, January was second in assists and steals, fifth in free<br />

throw percentage and seventh in scoring and minutes per game.<br />

2011: She missed the playoffs due to a season-ending injury.<br />

2010: In three games against New York, she averaged 6.7<br />

points and 2.0 assists per game.<br />

2009: As a rookie, January appeared in all ten Fever playoff<br />

games…January averaged 10.6 points, 3.0 assists and 2.4<br />

rebounds per game…she scored in double figures in five of 10<br />

playoff games, including 16 or more points on three<br />

occasions…she led the team in 3-point percentage and was<br />

second on the team in free throw percentage…January averaged<br />

12 points a game in the <strong>WNBA</strong> Finals...in Game 3 of the <strong>WNBA</strong><br />

Finals against Phoenix, 10/4, she had a playoff-high 17 points…in<br />

Game 1 of the <strong>WNBA</strong> Finals at Phoenix, 9/29, she had 11 points<br />

to go along with seven assists.<br />

PRO-OVERSEAS<br />

2010-11: She joined Ranana Hertzeliya of the Israeli League at<br />

mid-season and helped the club to the semifinal round of the<br />

playoffs…she averaged 14.5 points and 5.5 assists while sparking<br />

the club to a 7-4 regular season mark upon her arrival…she was<br />

named all-league honorable mention.<br />

2009-10: January played with Tarsus in the Turkish League.<br />

COLLEGE<br />

The 2008 and 2009 Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year, she<br />

was a First Team All-Pac 10 selection in 2009 and an honorable<br />

mention All-America pick as a junior and senior...she ended her<br />

career as Arizona State's all-time leader in assists (538) and free<br />

throw percentage (.830)...she was also among the Sun Devils' alltime<br />

leaders in steals (second, 272), free throws (second, 401), 3point<br />

field goal percentage (fourth, .399), 3-point field goals (fifth,<br />

132) and scoring (seventh, 1,317 points)...in 2008-09, she set the<br />

school's single-season record for 3-pt field goals (65)...she is the<br />

only player in school history to lead the team in steals and assists<br />

four straight years.<br />

2008-09: Ranked second in the nation in 3-point FG pct. (.469)<br />

and 12th in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1-to-1), January led the Pac-<br />

10 in assists (4.7), 3-point FG percentage (.469) and assist-toturnover<br />

ratio…she was second in steals (2.3) and fourth in FT pct.<br />

(.840)...she averaged 13.8 points, 5.8 assists and 1.5 steals in<br />

ASU's four NCAA Tournament games...she scored a career-best<br />

25 points and tied a school record with seven 3-pointers in ASU's<br />

73-59 win at UC Davis, 12/3...she nearly posted a double-double<br />

with 10 points, nine assists and two steals in ASU's NCAA firstround<br />

win over Georgia...she matched her scoring high in an<br />

NCAA Tournament game with 22 points to go along with five<br />

assists, two steals and a block in ASU's 84-69 win over Texas<br />

A&M in the Trenton Regional semifinal, 3/29.<br />

2007-08: She was selected an All-Pac-10 All-Academic<br />

Honorable Mention...she finished the season ranked first in the<br />

Pac-10 in free throw percentage (.864) and steals (2.18) while<br />

ranking third in assists (4.39), fifth in assist-to-turnover ratio and<br />

15th in scoring (11.3)...she scored in double figures 23 times,<br />

including a 22-point performance against Texas, 12/22... she<br />

averaged 13.8 points while connecting on 55.2 percent of her<br />

shots (16-29), including 54.5 percent from beyond the arc (6-of-<br />

11), and 85 percent of her free throws (17-of-20) in ASU's four<br />

Pac-10 and NCAA Tournament contests.<br />

January scored in double digits in 5 of 10 playoff games in 2009, and averaged 12 points per game in the <strong>WNBA</strong> Finals.
