Indiana’s top draft pick in <strong>2012</strong> is expected to help bolster<br />

Fever rebounding fortunes. Goodlett is just the second Georgia<br />

Tech player ever chosen in the first round of the <strong>WNBA</strong> Draft,<br />

following Alex Montgomery’s No. 10 selection in 2011 by the New<br />

York Liberty. She played at Tech under MaChelle Joseph whose<br />

career began as a player and assistant coach at Purdue under Lin<br />

Dunn.<br />

COLLEGE<br />

Goodlett finished her career at Georgia Tech ranked among<br />

career leaders in points scored (10th, 1,364), rebounds (9th, 760)<br />

and blocked shots (5th, 127)…she set a Yellow Jacket record for<br />

most career games played with 133, starting 127 of those.<br />

2011-12: During her final campaign, Goodlett earned All-ACC<br />

Second Team and ACC All-Tournament First Team accolades as<br />

she helped the Jackets to 12 ACC wins and a 26-9 mark<br />

overall…the Yellow Jackets played in the ACC Championship<br />

Game for only the second time in school history and were ranked<br />

as high as 15th in the country…Goodlett finished 15th in the NCAA<br />

with a 53.2 percent shooting clip…she led the Jackets with 14.6<br />

points and 7.7 rebounds per game…she led Tech in scoring 16<br />

times as a senior, and 18 times on the boards…in all, she<br />

contributed 10 double-doubles with 26 games in double-figure<br />

scoring, including a season-high 26 points at Boston College, 1/15.<br />

2010-11: She played in 34 of 35 games and started 32<br />

contests...she was third on team with 9.9 ppg and third with 5.8<br />

rpg, scoring in double digits 17 times...she tied her season high<br />

with 18 points against Maryland and added nine boards against<br />

the Terps in an ACC Tournament win...she tied a career high with<br />

13 rebounds against Miami...also against Miami, she finished with<br />

a season-high 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting to go with seven<br />

rebounds against the Hurricanes.<br />

2008-09: As a freshman, Goodlett played in every game and<br />

started 29 of Tech's 32 contests…she registered her first career<br />

double-double (16 pts, 13 reb) against Iowa in the first round of the<br />

NCAA Tournament (3/22)…she averaged 6.3 points and 3.7<br />

rebounds per game…she was named to the Dean's List in the<br />

spring.<br />

Sasha Samolia Goodlett was born on August 9, 1990 in<br />

Jackson, Miss….she is the daughter of Michael Washington and<br />

Sara Goodlett…she has an older sister, Tristina, and an older<br />

brother, Michael…she majored in history at Georgia Tech and<br />

enjoys playing air hockey…she was a four-year letterwinner and<br />

two-year captain in basketball at Clinton High School…she was<br />

named the 2007-08 team MVP…she was a member of the 2005-<br />

06 5A state championship team…Goodlett was named to the<br />

Dandy Dozen (Top 12 Players in Mississippi) by the Clarion<br />

Ledger... she was ranked No. 64 in the nation by All-Star Girls<br />

Report…she was a 2007 Mississippi High School All-Star Game<br />

participant and an honor roll student.<br />
