SEVEN CONSECUTIVE <strong>WNBA</strong> PLAYOFF APPEARANCES<br />

PROLIANCE ENERGY BACKPACK ATTACK<br />

A <strong>com</strong>ponent of the Read to Achieve Program, the Indiana<br />

Fever & Proliance Energy helps support the Backpack Attack.<br />

Since 1999, Backpack Attack has collected more than 2.1 million<br />

school supplies for children in the Indianapolis Public Schools<br />

(IPS) as well as other schools in Marion, Boone, Hancock and<br />

Hendricks counties.<br />

The Indiana Fever and Proliance Energy teams up to host this<br />

event at a Fever game before school begins. Fans donate school<br />

supply items, and in return receive a FREE Pepsi product. In<br />

addition, employees of each organization host internal collections<br />

to help support the effort.<br />

FEVER READING AND LEARNING CENTER<br />

As part of the Indiana Fever Education Initiative, the Fever,<br />

<strong>WNBA</strong> and Toyota sponsored a Fever Reading and Learning<br />

Center renovation for the 2009 <strong>WNBA</strong> Finals as part of the Toyota<br />

Project Rebound Program.<br />

The Fever Reading and Learning Center provides books and<br />

technological resources to kids at the Boys and Girls Club of<br />

Indianapolis Lilly Unit to implement the <strong>WNBA</strong>’s national reading<br />

initiative, Read to Achieve, at the local level. This center also<br />

provides a fun place to learn and do homework.<br />

WELL DUNN AWARD<br />

As part of Pacers Sports & Entertainment’s Citizenship<br />

Initiative the Indiana Fever and head coach Lin Dunn recognize<br />

Indiana citizens who have done well in the <strong>com</strong>munity at five of the<br />

Fever home games through the Well Dunn Award presented by<br />

Harrison College. Everyday Indiana citizens make an<br />

overwhelming impact on the lives of others and make lasting<br />

contributions to our <strong>com</strong>munity and our state.<br />

Each award recipient receives four tickets to a Fever home<br />

game, where they are recognized during a special on-court<br />

presentation. In addition, each recipient also receives a special<br />

memento and <strong>com</strong>memorative photo.<br />

KROGER BALL EXCHANGE<br />

As part of the Kroger Ball<br />

Exchange, each Fever home game<br />

the Indiana Fever and Kroger allow 11<br />

children to receive an autographed<br />

basketball from an Indiana Fever<br />

player during the player introductions.<br />

In addition, each child receives a<br />

Kroger Ball Exchange t-shirt.<br />

FEVER IN THE COMMUNITY<br />

IPS VALUES FOR LIFE CELEBRATION<br />

In partnership with Indianapolis Public Schools, the Pacers and<br />

Fever host the IPS Values for Life Celebration at Bankers Life<br />

Fieldhouse.<br />

The purpose of this celebration is to recognize & encourage<br />

the over 8,000 students who demonstrate Indianapolis Public<br />

Schools Four Core Values of Excellence, Scholarship, Respect<br />

and Courage.<br />

The 2011 celebration included appearances from Dr. Eugene<br />

White, Superintendent of Public Schools, Pacers COO Rick<br />

Fuson, Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, Pacers players Dahntay<br />

Jones, A.J. Price, Lance Stephenson and former Fever player<br />

Shyra Ely. Students were wel<strong>com</strong>ed to Bankers Life Fieldhouse<br />

by 100 Best Buy volunteers cheering their success and music from<br />

the Northwest vs. Arlington High School drumlines. In addition,<br />

students were treated to a variety of entertainment from Boomer’s<br />

Dunk Show, Radio Disney and the Chicago Boyz! All students in<br />

attendance received an IPS Values for Life T-shirt and tickets to<br />

an Indiana Fever game.<br />

FEVER FRIENDS<br />

In partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana,<br />

the Fever matches young boys and girls with an adult mentor to<br />

attend Fever games throughout the season. Through this program,<br />

Fever players interact with kids and serve as role models. Fever<br />

Friends, which started during the inaugural Fever season,<br />

partnered exclusively with Big Sisters of Indiana prior to 2003.<br />

Since the Big Brothers and Big Sisters programs merged, the<br />

Fever began hosting boys and girls.<br />

GO GREEN<br />

As part of the Pacers Sports & Entertainment Citizenship<br />

Initiative and <strong>WNBA</strong> Go Green Initiative, the Fever supports the<br />

<strong>WNBA</strong>’s <strong>com</strong>mitment to a long-term environmental plan through<br />

the implementation of sustainable business practices and<br />

procedures that decrease the league’s carbon footprint and<br />

contribute to a clean, healthy environment.<br />

The annual Fever Bowling Tournament will be conducted on July 25, <strong>2012</strong>, at Pinheads in Fishers.<br />
