Perfect diet
hard to find
HAVE you ever picked up a lifestyle magazine only to read that everything you
eat and drink is wrong?
You soon find out that you haven’t been
drinking enough water, protein should be
complemented with carbohydrates, sugar is
poison, only naughty people eat bread and then
there is coffee.
Everyday something new regarding diet and
nutrition is published and it confuses us all just
that little bit more. Don’t even get started on
fads and superfoods.
It is easy to be tricked into eating things that
are labelled healthy when in fact they may be
doing more harm than good.
There is no right way to a perfect diet but
here are a few things that may assist you in
making better choices.
• Make it easy for you. If you don’t buy it,
you will only say no once. If you buy it you
keep saying no.
• Multicolour palette. Let colours guide your
selection when shopping in the fresh fruit
and vegetable section of the market.
Different colours offer different nutrients
and plant chemicals that are necessary for
normal body function.
• Eat with the season. This is nature’s way of
making healthy bodies. Eat fruit and
vegetables that are in season to maximise
nutrient intake. Besides they usually taste a
whole lot better as well.
• Dust off the recipe book. Try new recipes or
styles of cooking. This often opens the door
to healthy variety and the introduction of
nutritional foods that you have been missing
in your diet.
The key to nutrition and a balanced diet is
about knowing what to eat, when to eat it and
what is inside it.
There is one thing that has been proven to
work and that is the combination of a balanced
diet and regular exercise.
We are excited to say that at the Dolphins
Health Precinct we now have professionals in
both departments.
You can now have the support of not only
our personal trainers but also a qualified
nutritionist.
No single nutritional plan will suit everyone.
Things like our body type, hormones, medical
conditions and other factors will determine
what type of nutritional plan you will need.
By seeing our resident nutritionist you will
soon be on your way to eating well and feeling
a whole lot better.
So in March we have an extremely healthy
membership offer for new members. If you
join this month, you will receive a free
consultation with our Dolphins Health Precinct
nutritionist.
This is the first of its kind at Dolphins and it
will provide all new members with a strong
platform to achieve their health and fitness
goals.
In addition to this we have a free personal
trainer assessment to get you started, a free
class in our beautiful Mind & Body Studio and
five years free Redcliffe Leagues Club
membership if you are not already a member.
We still have an amazing three-month
membership offer for $170. Remember this is
not just a gym membership, it is a health
precinct hosting an aquatic centre, 33 degree
hydrotherapy pool and gym.
Adult learn to swim classes are back for
those who would like to learn the basics of
swimming and water safety. They run for fourweek
blocks and are as little as $15 per lesson.
Bookings are essential.
