Federation, Vladimir Putin. 73 At <strong>the</strong> trial, Yuriy pleaded guilty. He stated that he was not going<br />
to appeal against <strong>the</strong> verdict. According to <strong>the</strong> Russian human rights activist Zoya Svietova,<br />
on 10 December, 2015, Yuriy Soloshenko was transferred to Nizhniy Novgorod in order to<br />
serve his sentence. 74<br />

On 9 December, 2014, while crossing <strong>the</strong> Russian-Ukrainian border in Bryansk Province,<br />
Viktor Shur was detained by <strong>the</strong> FSB. De jure, he is a citizen <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Russian Federation, despite<br />
<strong>the</strong> fact that he was born on <strong>the</strong> territory <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> USSR and all <strong>of</strong> his relatives still live in Ukraine.<br />
Following <strong>the</strong> collapse <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> USSR, he gave preference to Russian citizenship, as his pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />
activities required him to constantly travel to <strong>the</strong> territory <strong>of</strong> Russia. In recent years, he<br />
has lived in Chernigov. He supported Ukrainian volunteers and Euromaidan. 75<br />
According to Viktor’s son, Valeriy Shur, his fa<strong>the</strong>r was <strong>of</strong>ficially arrested for insulting police<br />
<strong>of</strong>ficers and sentenced to 15 days’ incarceration; later, he was accused <strong>of</strong> violating <strong>the</strong> rules <strong>of</strong> a<br />
sensitive facility, but, subsequently, <strong>the</strong> charges were reclassified to ‘treason and collaboration<br />
with <strong>the</strong> secret services <strong>of</strong> a foreign state’. 76 (Art. 275 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> CC <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> RF). The relatives learned<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> whereabouts <strong>of</strong> Viktor at <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> December 2014.<br />
According to <strong>the</strong> prosecution, Viktor Shur was sent to <strong>the</strong> Bryansk Province <strong>of</strong> Ukraine by<br />
intelligence services in order to ga<strong>the</strong>r information about a Russian military enterprise, which is,<br />
in fact, a deserted airport with silos for launching ballistic missiles and which was flooded back<br />
