Part Time Counsellor at Cairns Counselling
Position: Counsellor and Supervisor.
Salary & Hours: £25,000 pro rata, 15 hours per week.
Location: Aberdeen
Job Type: Part time hours, 3 year contract.
Closing Date for Applications: Friday 29nd April
JOB VACANCIES
Cairns Counselling is a small local charity providing counselling to adults within Aberdeen and the surrounding areas. We
have grown in the scale of service provided over the years and are currently open six days a week and provide around 4000
counselling hours each year.
Demands on the service continue to increase as more and more people are looking to access support from counselling. It
has become apparent that the service would be enhanced by the skills and commitment of a staff counsellor/supervisor.
Working alongside the existing staff team to meet current responsibilities and future development, the role requires an
element of flexibility.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic counsellor and supervisor which will increase our capacity to support referrals to
the service and reduce waiting times via direct client contact and the support of volunteer counsellors through supervision.
The successful candidate must hold a diploma in counselling and certificate in supervision. Full details available in our
application pack.
For an application pack please contact info@cairnscounselling.org.uk or 01224 633131
We are looking for tutors!
The WEA takes education to where it is needed most – in local communities and workplaces.
Many WEA courses are run in partnership with local community groups, charities, local
authorities and other organisations. In Scotland the WEA makes a unique contribution
to lifelong learning and is committed to equality of access to learning. Its key priority
is the provision of learning opportunities for educationally, socially and economically
disadvantaged groups of people across Scotland.
Here in the North East, we are looking for a number of part-time tutors across a range of subject areas, to deliver workshops
and classes in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire, including contributing to our Reach Out Project programme.
We are looking for:
Suitably qualified Literacies tutors – including Financial Literacies tutors – and those with experience of delivering Literacies
in the workplace; those with knowledge of welfare rights; tutors with a keen interest in the outdoors and/or environmental
learning/gardening; tutors in ‘first step’ learning/confidence building; ‘Employability’ and Basic IT; health and well-being;
creative arts; creative writing; work with older people – including Reminiscence.
If you have (preferably) experience in community-based adult learning, and are committed to the empowerment of learners
through self-directed learning, we would love to hear from you.
Please contact us for an application form. When completed, please return it to us with an up-to-date CV. Prospective tutors
would then be asked to come for an informal interview – and if successful would then be part of our ‘tutor bank’ to be called
upon as demand dictates.
Please be clear that a successful application is not a guarantee of work.
For an application form, please e-mail: aberdeen@weascotland.org.uk or telephone 01224 642725.
