DESCRIPTION<br />

Joint Service Equipment Wipe (JSEW) provides immediate operational<br />

decontamination capabilities for sensitive and nonsensitive equipment<br />

exposed to traditional and nontraditional chemical contamination. JSEW<br />

will be the first decontamination capability available to warfighters that<br />

is nondestructive to sensitive equipment. It will be applied directly to the<br />

contaminated surface and is capable of removing gross contamination<br />

and reducing contact hazard within five minutes of application.<br />

BENEFIT TO THE WARFIGHTER<br />

JSEW is sized for individuals to carry in the pocket of their overgarments.<br />

It is durable and allows for extended carry by individual users.<br />

SPECIFICATIONS<br />

• Decontaminate Nerve-G, Nerve-V, Blister-H and nontraditional<br />

agents of operational significance from a starting liquid challenge<br />

of 10 grams per square meter (5 grams per square meter for<br />

nontraditional agents) to 1 gram per square meter (threshold)<br />

• Nondestructive to both sensitive and nonsensitive equipment<br />

• Allows for decontamination of 1 gram per square meter of sensitive<br />

and nonsensitive equipment with a single kit (kit contains five<br />

individually packaged wipes)<br />
