<strong>ISLAMOPHOBIA</strong> IN Italy<br />

THE AUTHORS<br />

Grazia Alessandra Siino* is an international legal expert. She holds a Ph.D<br />

in Law and Politics of the Euro-Mediterranean Region from the University of Enna<br />

(Italy). Prior to that, she graduated in Law from the University of Palermo and spent<br />

one semester at the International Institute for Human Rights in Strasbourg (France)<br />

and an academic year at the University of Salamanca (Spain). While Grazia Alessandra<br />

is currently a staff member at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg (France), this<br />

paper is not part of her activity at the Council of Europe and is written in a personal<br />

capacity, unrelated to her work. Her previous experience includes working within<br />

the Italian Embassy in Mexico City (Mexico). She is fluent in English, French and<br />

Spanish. Her mother tongue is Italian. siino.grazia.alessandra@gmail.com<br />

Nadia Levantino is an Italian lawyer specialized in International Law and Human<br />

Rights with a specific focus on children’s and migrants’ rights. Having graduated<br />

at the University of Palermo (Italy), she attended a post-master Programme in<br />

European and International Law at the Faculty of Law in Strasbourg (France). She<br />

is a former trainee of the Permanent Representation of Italy to the European Union<br />

in Brussels and, as from 2014, is the volunteer worker responsible for the Legal Aid<br />

service at “Save the Children Italy” in Palermo. Nadia is a native Italian speaker. She<br />

is fluent in English and French and offers legal assistance in both languages.<br />
