<strong>ISLAMOPHOBIA</strong> IN Switzerland<br />

THE AUTHOR<br />

Saira Bano Orakzai is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute for Reconciliation<br />

and Social Justice, University of Free States , South Africa. She earned her<br />

Ph.D in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of New England, Australia.<br />

She won Australian Award Scholarship for Ph.D. studies 2009-2013 . She is also a<br />

Higher Education Commission Visiting Assistant Professor at the Institute of Peace<br />

and Conflict studies, University of Peshawar, Pakistan. In 2015, she has been selected<br />

as the Centre for Strategic and International Studies International fellow, Washington<br />

D.C. She has been Charles Wallace Trust fellow at the Human Rights Consortium<br />

2013-2014 , University of London and Visiting scholar at the Institute of Commonwealth<br />

Studies, School of Advanced Studies, University of London. In 2010 , she<br />

was the Caux Scholar, Peacebuilder forum, Initiative of Faith, Switzerland. She has<br />

11 journal publications and working on two edited volumes on peace and conflict<br />

studies. Her latest publication includes ‘Islamophobia and the Making of Discourses’,<br />

Islamophobia Yearbook 2015, Cultural Resources of Peacebuilding for the Conflict in<br />

FATA: The Philosophy of Abdul Ghaffar Khan and KhudaiKhidmatgar Movement”,<br />

Journal of Conflict Engagement and Negotiations, 2015, The Post 2011 Insurgency in<br />
