<strong>Drawn</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Valley</strong> – 13 Years<br />

Tavis<strong>to</strong>ck Annual Exhibition<br />

Tavis<strong>to</strong>ck Town Hall<br />

27th <strong>to</strong> 31st July <strong>2016</strong><br />

It is thirteen years since <strong>the</strong> <strong>Drawn</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Valley</strong> group first got <strong>to</strong>ge<strong>the</strong>r<br />

as a way for artists local <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> River Tamar <strong>to</strong> keep in <strong>to</strong>uch and exhibit <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

work. Much of <strong>the</strong>ir inspiration comes from <strong>the</strong>ir passion for <strong>the</strong> Tamar <strong>Valley</strong><br />

Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are now over 130 members<br />

covering a host of creative skills, and a wide geographical area, and <strong>the</strong><br />

group’s continued success is something <strong>to</strong> celebrate.<br />

The <strong>Drawn</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Valley</strong> annual Summer Exhibition in Tavis<strong>to</strong>ck Town Hall<br />

is a fantastic opportunity <strong>to</strong> see a wide selection of <strong>the</strong>se artists’ work under<br />

one roof, and is a great way <strong>to</strong> get a flavour of more <strong>to</strong> come as this event is<br />

followed by <strong>Open</strong> <strong>Studios</strong> from 27th August <strong>to</strong> 4th September <strong>2016</strong>.<br />

Paintings, prints, ceramics, textiles, jewellery, pho<strong>to</strong>graphy, glass, wood and<br />

sculpture all form part of this eclectic exhibition. All work is for sale and will<br />

include cards and unmounted work. The artists range from those with a great<br />

deal of experience <strong>to</strong> those who are just starting out. Prices reflect this mix<br />

and <strong>the</strong>re will be plenty of bargains.<br />

The private view, on Tuesday 26th July from 6.30 pm <strong>to</strong> 8.30 pm, is a<br />

wonderfully vibrant occasion which offers <strong>the</strong> opportunity <strong>to</strong> meet many of<br />

<strong>the</strong> artists and <strong>to</strong> see <strong>the</strong>ir work displayed. For <strong>the</strong> artists <strong>the</strong>mselves it is an<br />

important event that brings <strong>the</strong>m <strong>to</strong>ge<strong>the</strong>r both socially and professionally. It<br />

is both exciting and daunting for <strong>the</strong>m <strong>to</strong> see <strong>the</strong>ir work in a public show.<br />
