Festivals and Events
Jouf organizes many festivals and events
throughout the year, including:
Olive Festival
Held annually in December; the season
for harvesting and pressing olives. Enjoy
watching the whole process from harvesting
and until these fresh olives are pressed. Don’t
forget to get the finest olive oil for yourself
from this festival’s bazaars, where all oil
producers; whether large companies or even
small-scale farmers, gather to offer you the
best olive oil you will ever have.
Spring Festival
Held annually in February, it’s an open
invitation for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy
and experience nature and wildlife. Many
activities and events are organized for all
members of the family to enjoy a spectacular
day and appreciate the beautiful nature
offered there.
Horse Riding Race
Horse riding has always been a part of Jouf’s
culture. This popular hobby has continued among
the people of Jouf where competitions between
horse owners are often held on Thursdays in the
equestrian race courses of Skaka and Dawmay
Al- Jandal.
Camel Race
It is often held on Fridays at the camel race
course located on Kho’aa road, 15 kilometers
away from the city of Skaka. It is the kind of race
that you can only witness in Saudi Arabia, where
camel owners compete against each other to win
the highest ranks in different rounds. The race
also attracts a number of camel owners from
neighboring areas.
Sadu Festival
This festival supports many of the local families
who are famous for making the finest quality of
rugs and carpets and other Sadu products. In this
special festival, you will get a great opportunity
to customize any logo or design of your choice
and you can even get your name tailor-made
just for you on a unique Sadu piece.
Summer Festival
The festival is called “Jouf Hilwah.” It is usually
held during summer vacation when the weather
in Jouf is more moderate and comfortable.
