Minister of Culture looks<br />

forward to the start of carnival<br />

As the 60 th carnival<br />

celebrations approach, with<br />

the opening parade taking<br />

place on Friday, Minister<br />

of Culture and National<br />

Festivals, the Hon. E.P Chet<br />

Greene is looking forward<br />

to the creative aspect of the<br />

celebrations.<br />

He expressed that the<br />

colours and the concepts<br />

Making specific reference<br />

to T shirts mas, which<br />

will take place on Saturday,<br />

the Culture Minister encouraged<br />

persons to “be creative”.<br />

He also described the<br />

event as one of the “fastest<br />

growing” where the celebrations<br />

are concerned.<br />

The 55 th annual Jaycees<br />

<strong>Caribbean</strong> Queen Show<br />

will take place on Sunday,<br />

where the twin island state<br />

will welcome 11 beauties<br />

who will compete for the<br />

competed title of Miss<br />

Jaycees <strong>Caribbean</strong> Queen<br />

<strong>2016</strong>. The twin island state<br />

will be represented by Leanda<br />

Ann Norville.<br />

Minister Greene described<br />

the show “as a staple”<br />

and encouraged Antiguans<br />

and Barbudans to<br />

show their support.<br />

The majority of the<br />

shows will take place next<br />

week to include the Source<br />

Teen Xplotion Competition,<br />

the ACB Panorama Competition,<br />

the FLOW Junior<br />

Calypso Monarch and the<br />

FLOW Party Monarch,<br />

ECAB Juniour Party Monarch,<br />

LIAT Melting Pot and<br />

the Wadadli Beer Calypso<br />

Monarch Competition.<br />

The Culture Minister<br />

commended the members of<br />

the Festival Commission for<br />

Culture Minister, the Hon., E.P.<br />

Chet Greene<br />

the work that they have done<br />

so far to ensure that preparations<br />

for the events progress<br />

well.<br />

The <strong>2016</strong> Carnival celebrations<br />

will take place under<br />

the theme “Experience<br />

Greatness”.<br />
