Festivals Commission has
new financial controller

The Festival Commission now has
a full time financial controller who has
just been appointed.
Minister Responsible for the Festival,
E Paul Chet Greene, has announced
the appointment of Kendra Weste to the
position with immediate effect.
He said there have been several recommendations

and attempted to arrest him.

millions of dollars every year implementing
its calendar of events and it
was felt that the demands of the position
were as such that it needed a financial
controller who is available at all times to

choke lock and dragged him

ground.
Other officers present
responded to the attack and
were able to subdue the
enraged defendant. He was
arrested and charged with
resisting arrest, Indecnt language,
and battery.
Albert who resides at Old
Road, pleaded guilty to all
the charges yesterday before
Chief Magistrate Walsh.
For indecent language
he was convicted and fined
$500 forthwith, in default
he will spend one month at
HMP; for resisting the police
he was convicted and
fined $500 forthwith, in default
of payment he will be
sentenced to six months at
ensure the smooth running of the commission,”
Greene explained.
Weste recently returned from studies
aboard where she qualified in the related
subjects that earned her the appointment.
Meanwhile, Greene has expressed
his thanks and appreciation to outgoing
financial controller, Leslie-Ann Yearwood,
who has been financial controller
for the past two years.
