individual behaviors that are known to harm <strong>the</strong> <strong>Puget</strong> <strong>Sound</strong> increased from 75% to<br />

79%. The most avoided behaviors include disposing of chemicals, prescription drugs or<br />

cooking oil down <strong>the</strong> drain. The least avoided behaviors were fertilizing one’s lawn and<br />

washing one’s car in <strong>the</strong> driveway, street, or parking lot (<strong>Puget</strong> <strong>Sound</strong> Partnership,<br />

2015a).<br />

a. The 2015 <strong>Sound</strong> Behavior Index improved from 2013, with a score of .84<br />

compared to .747.<br />

b. The primary correlations to a high SBI score in 2015 were renting a home and<br />

having an income less than $50,000 per year. The primary correlations to a low<br />

SBI score in 2015 were being 18-24, income over $50,000, conservative political<br />

orientation, number of years lived in <strong>the</strong>ir county, and reported ethnicity of<br />

American Indian/Alaska Native.<br />
