Species of concern in <strong>the</strong> Salish Sea<br />
The following list is drawn from a 2014 paper written by Joe Gaydos and Jacqlynn Zier of <strong>the</strong><br />
SeaDoc Society that discusses <strong>the</strong> increase in species of concern in <strong>the</strong> Salish Sea. As of<br />
November 15, 2013, <strong>the</strong>re were 119 species at risk in <strong>the</strong> Salish Sea, almost twice <strong>the</strong> number of<br />
species at risk when <strong>the</strong> indicator was first established in 2002. The paper was presented at <strong>the</strong><br />
April 30 - May 2, 2014 Salish Sea Ecosystem Conference in Seattle, WA (Gaydos and Zier, 2014).<br />
