ROOKIE LIFEGUARD
Rookie Lifeguard awards are the
junior awards from RLSS UK.
The awards introduce children to
water safety and alternative safe
aquatic play through survival,
rescue and sports skills as well
as life support and water safety
elements.
8-10 HOUR COURSES
Series of practical courses
(some classroom based some
pool based).
- Delivered by a Rookie Instructor.
COSTING
£1.65 per candidate.
Tutor costs (teachers or
coaches can attend a course
to deliver normally between
£50 and £60).

SURVIVE & SAVE
INCLUDING
LIFESAVING SPORT
RLSS UK’s Survive & Save
Programme is the lifesaving awards
programme for teens and adults.
The awards are challenging but
fun to complete and are arranged
into Bronze, Silver and Gold levels
to ensure continued development
of lifesaving skills.
14 HOUR COURSE
Practical and theory courses
teaching lifesaving rescue, selfrescue,
survival, lifesaving sport
skills and also develop swimming
ability and fitness.
- Delivered by a Lifesaving
Instructor.

£15 per candidate.

coaches can attend a course
to deliver normally between
£70 and £80).

TIMEKEEPERS
This dry award will equip
candidates with the necessary skills
to fulfil the role of a Timekeeper at
lifesaving sport events.
