CONGRATULATIONS UNDER NINES! PLATE WINNERS
UNDER SIX MAROONS This season I had the pleasure of coaching the U/6 Maroons. I watched them develop into a formidable team with electrifying attack and brick wall defence. The boys trained hard working on a broad range of skills and reaped the rewards on the field smashing the bigger more experienced teams. We lost our major strike weapon Kai “War Machine” Green to Queensland mid season which had me sweating bullets as to how the boys would cope without their leader. My worries were unfounded as they gelled into a real team where everyone did their job and multiple leaders emerged to show their strengths and do the Black and White jersey proud. These boys are that competitive I have listed them in alphabetical order to avoid any vendettas. Jay “Calender Boy” Calandruccio charmed the mums with his good looks and impressed the dads with his no nonsense attitude. Scored a bunch of tries with his speed and chopped them down with grass cutting tackles. Jett “Bulldozer” Davis: Jett Earthmoving sponsored our team and Jett ran with the theme burying the opposition with his powerful frame and bulldozing over the try line. Jack “Evil Kinevil” Edwards: was always willing to run the ball up with no thought of self preservation. Showed his experience cutting the defensive line to pieces and did the hard work in defence. Jai “Phantom” Quested: has the ability to appear and disappear at will and used his powers to bamboozle the other teams. He can sniff out a try close to the line and was a willing member of the Shark Attack pack.
