THE SENIOR CLASS GIFT
The tradition of senior class giving was started by the Class of 2014 as a meaningful way to
thank the dedicated teachers and coaches who helped them throughout their four years at
O’Dowd.
Following in this tradition, the Class of
2016 achieved record level giving by
raising over $82,000 to establish The
Class of 2016 Endowed Scholarship
Fund, becoming the first O’Dowd class
to establish such a fund prior to graduation.
An anonymous donor is matching
all gifts to endowed scholarships, $1 for
$1, doubling the impact of these gifts
to $164,000. The scholarship will be
awarded annually to students who excel
in academics, are active in the O’Dowd
community, and have a demonstrated
financial need.
The campaign was led by volunteer students
and parents. Says Dani Viviani ’16,
one of the student leaders, “I came to really
appreciate O’Dowd during my junior
year and the start of the college process.
I felt so prepared by my teachers. As I
embark on college, I realize how lucky I
am to be part of the O’Dowd community.
I know now that the scholarship, and my
support, is even more important to provide this same opportunity to other students in our
community.”
O’Dowd is eternally grateful to the Class of 2016 students and parents for creating such an
outstanding legacy.
