As we predicted back in <strong>January</strong> <strong>2015</strong>, the taxi industry<br />
had a very successful year in <strong>2015</strong>. Uber and its illegal<br />
POP services have been nearly wiped out in Europe, and<br />
price adjustments were accepted by the customers in the<br />
countries where they were legally required due to changes<br />
to framework conditions. Last but not least, fuel costs<br />
are now nearly a third lower. The taxi industry has no<br />
influence on the third point, but it did put in enormous<br />
efforts to fight for success in the other areas. The phrase<br />
used in sports is ‘a solid team performance’. In the taxi<br />
industry, the team’s biggest asset is our ever-expanding<br />
common network (which we also show a few examples of<br />
in this edition). To carry on with the sports analogy:<br />
Regional superstars are powerless on their own in the face<br />
of global and digital challenges if the taxi industry does<br />
not work as a team.<br />
