Spooky Success at the
Showman’s Show
GT TRAX, A hirer
of temporary
roadways,
walkways, seating
and structures
to the outside
event market, is
celebrating scooping
first prize for their
exhibition stand
design at the recent
Showman’s Show.
This was the 10th
consecutive time GT
Trax has exhibited
at the show, and each year the team tries a different theme to
attract visitors to examine their products and services. This
year’s was Halloween. The stand was adorned with spooky
symbols and objects, and there was a stash of handmade
Halloween cake pops on offer.
Behind the stand design was hire and sales manager,
Julie-Ann James. Julie-Ann was appropriately dressed as a
witch and her compatriots, Robyn Tate and Suzy Dance, both
enthusiastically joined in the fun as the bride of Dracula and a
zombie cheerleader.
The judge was the editor of Open Air Business magazine,
Tally Wade. Commenting on the award GT Trax managing
director Trevor Tinker said, “We have gained a reputation
within the events industry as having a dynamic approach to
marketing and promotions, and winning this award was a
testament to the hard work that Julie-Ann and her team put
into making sure the Showman’s Show was such a success.”
GT Trax has been supplying the events industries with a
variety of products since 2005. The company has just relocated
from Norfolk to Warboys, Cambridgeshire. Particular emphasis
is placed on the sustainability values of the products in the
GT Trax hire fleet. Its plastic trackway and walkways are made
from recycled (and recyclable) material and cleaned using an
automatic system that operates from recycled rainwater.
Two New Lighting Launches
AIRSTAR, A FRENCH
manufacturer of inflatable
structures and lighting balloons
for the event industry, has
announced two new products
to its Crystal range – Sunshade
and Crystal White 50k lum.
Following a successful pilot
test at the Solidays and Musilac
music festivals in France this
summer, Sunshade is now
available to the market. A large
lighting umbrella, it transforms
the Crystal lighting balloon
technology into a new envelope
shape. Measuring 2.2 or 2.6
metres in diameter, it features
the same RGB LED lights and is
DMX controllable.
At Solidays, Sunshades were
deployed as decorative party
tables, tailored to the needs
of the festival. Rigged on a
2.75m high structure, they
were weighted by a 200kg base
hidden by a cover. Five were
situated backstage for the
artists, as well as the VIP terrace
and the VIP bar, and they
complemented the placement
of Airstar lighting balloons used
for public signage, security and
backstage across the festival.
In addition to Sunshade,
the Crystal White 50k lumens
lighting balloons (available in
130, 160 and 200cm diameter)
also feature LED lamps. Crystal
White 50k lum is dimmable,
with options including cold
white, warm white or daylight,
and fully DMX controllable. In
addition, the product features
an extremely quiet fan to cool
the LED, rendering it almost
silent. It is also flicker free
making it suitable for use at
broadcasted events.
