Around and Around We Go

Let’s get something straight right now.
Betty and I are Autocrossers. Hard core
Ok...
Autocrossers. Up until we joined PCA,
we had one experience with a Rally, and that gave us two
things that we remember vividly.... “What is the difference
between paved and unpaved? 45 Minutes.” And “Rallies
were invented by divorce lawyers.”
But a single rally with the Maverick Region changed
all that. We now love to go on the rallies, and the August
23 Loopy Rally was no exception. We showed up at the
Grapevine Mills mall ready to go, and excited to be there.
Eight cars showed up, and we were the oldest car there, and
the only air cooled car! As usual, Teri had the rally course
all set out, with some interesting twists. We even got bit
by a rule that we explained to one of the other competitors
during the event.
There was some beautiful driving around Lake Grapevine,
and some really nice twisty roads that I didn’t know
existed. Betty wants to go back and explore the roads when
we are able to really drive and not have to keep looking for
stuff on the side of the road.

shows him how dizzy he really was.
Afterward, we all went to Braums for Ice Cream. Teri
had to come up with a bunch of Tie breaker questions to
find a way to separate the three couples who tied for second,
and she can really come up with some tough ones. We got
to have fun arguing with Teri over an instruction (Teri was
right), and we met some really nice new friends.
So, when is the next Rally??
