Maverick Minutes by Charlie Davis, Secretary In attendance: James Shoffit, Charlie Davis, Teri Davis, Bryan Bell, Travis Howard, Robyn Howard, Tracey Gross, Jan Mayo, Clint Blackman, Denny Payne, Mark Gluck, Lisa Steele, Bob Lewis, Bob Kuykendall, Andy Mears. James called the meeting to order at 7:00. James detailed his recent stop light ticket, issued by mail from the City of Coppell. He steadfastly claims to not have been in the car. We believed him. Charlie announced that the new 2008 AX/TT Rules are posted on the club website. Teri again asked if there was room for Rally dates on the 2008 Events Calendar. We learned that Robyn was the new Calendar Chair. A couple of AX dates are still pending, since Clay is still confirming venues. Bryan, speaking up so Charlie could hear, admitted that he, not Robyn, has the most up-to-date calendar. He promised to send it via e-mail to the board members. He announced that there will be a dual Time Trial event at MSR in 2008. It is scheduled for June 21. This generated a lot of discussion and excitement. Lisa is getting mean! Approximately $3000 is overdue for Slipstream ads, and she wants them to pay now. Travis is getting comfortable being TT Chair. He has dates for all TT events in 2008. He and Bob Manskey are good friends. Robyn is working on the calendar. Bob K said we still have money. Although the final bills for Eagles Canyon DE are not in yet, he hopes we may be in the black for the year. He plans to have the 2007 books closed by the January board meeting. Bob L has planned the first 3 Happy Hours of 2008. Tracey reported that only 70 people attended the Founder’s Day banquet. She plans to try a more formal venue in 2008 to see if more people will attend. Even with the low attendance, the silent auction generated about $2000 for the HH Hope House. Because of the low attendance, it cost the club $5700 to do the Founder’s Day banquet. 72 people have made reservations for the Holiday Party. She reminded us that the New Member Party is on January 26th. She also asked us to please attend the dinner for the National Board Meeting. She will reschedule the Wine Tasting which now conflicts with one of the autocrosses. Jan said she needs an article about the Happy Hour by this coming Saturday and also requested something about the recent Sunday Drive. She wants pictures from the DE at Eagles Canyon, and already has an article and pictures regarding the Rennsport Reunion. Finally, she reminded us that her deadline is the Saturday after the Board Meeting! Clint is planning a Christmas Lights Drive on December 16th. In spite of the short notice, he has lots of interest. Denny again reminded us that the website calendar lags behind the one in Slipstream and encouraged us to give him updates. He reported that the region’s website went down for 4 hours on Monday, December 3. This was due to a problem on the National server. Mark said that he has requested insurance certificates for all December events and is working on ads for 2008. Andy, wearing his Joel hat (Membership), said he needs $1000 for postage. He suggested we be aggressive purging ex-members from our membership roster. After sharing the few cookies still on the plate, James adjourned at 8:26 PM. 8
