Tech Corner

Our thanks to Aaron Woods, the
service manager, and Larry Irby,
the parts manager at Boardwalk
Porsche, for their help in our most
successful tech session to date! Not
counting Bob Benson, the Safety Chair,
Mike Brodigan, the DE
Chair, and myself, 46
eager Porsche owners showed up to listen
to Bob explain the what’s and why’s of the
tech sign-off sheet. My Teutonic heritage
compelled me to jump in and pontificate
about things technical. I think we were
successful at showing and explaining
what to look for on a tech inspection and
how it relates to track safety. There were
a lot of questions and folks appeared
to enjoy the presentation. We might
entertain having another one of these
sessions next year prior to the start of the driving season.
As always, we ask for our members’ feedback on how the
sessions were received and what we could do to improve
them.

Spells, Incantations, and Service Procedures
Other than I am happy to see the end of the ice and snow
for this year, not much news to report from Lake Wobegon,
or central Richardson for that matter. Last May, we had a
tech session at my shop where we applied preservative to
convertible tops.
That session had
a great turn-out
and we might
have another one,
although I want
share the love and
host it at another
location. I invite
our members to
suggest topics
that we might
present in future
tech session. We try not to keep rehashing the same old
thing. Some topics merit encore presentations, but we are
always looking to expand our horizons.
