Jeff and Joanne
Pohlman are
childhood sweethearts,
originally
from New York.
Finishing high
school in 1971, a
friend bought a
914, and a ride in THAT car began
Jeff’s love for 914s that still sticks.
He joined the Air Force, where
orders for Vietnam were canceled,
and he finished his tour in

the world, as well as the typical UPS
fares, they don’t say “No” to any
requests. “We ship engines, transmissions,
tires & wheels, ask Carey
Spreen. You’d be surprised what
we can ship.” Many other Mavs’

By 1975, one of their
three cars was this ‘71
914, seen here with
their first daughter
peeking out...
… and they joined PCA
in 1976. They moved
to Minnesota for Jeff to
finish a BS in Auto Engineering,
then to Boston,
then to Virginia Beach
to finish an MBA. Later
they moved to Baltimore,
then to Houston, and
on to the Dallas area,
where they have been
since 1994. They have
been active on-and-off
in various PCA regions
all along the way, right
now nursing a ‘73
and a ‘75 914 through
rebuild processes.
They bought their

1992) in March of 2006.
Many Maverick Region members
have shipped all sorts of items
through their store. When they can
do freight, to-and-from anywhere in
Jeff and Joanne have
been to many Maverick
Region events, getting to
know many wonderful
people - it IS about the
people. “I was tickled
when Linda Bambina
called me for this article,”
Jeff said, “because
she and Lanean Hughes
were the first two people
to greet us at our first
New Member Party
in 1994, at Boardwalk
Porsche on Central Expressway.
My, how times
have changed, and we
sure still miss Lanean.”
Jeff is hard at work with
three new patents he has
pending, and maybe
when they settle down as
sold-licenses, we’ll see
the Pohlmans around
more. Until then, stop by
and visit them on Main
Street in Lewisville.
