March Happy Hour: Love & War in Texas<br />

Thursday<br />
evening,<br />
March 20,<br />
was a day filled<br />
with a threatening<br />
weather forecast<br />
and strong winds.<br />
As I looked forward<br />
to hosting our March Happy<br />
Hour, I was hopeful for a large<br />
crowd, as Love & War in Texas is a<br />
great venue with excellent food and<br />
service. I was pleasantly surprised<br />
when the weather cooperated and a<br />
large number of folks began to arrive.<br />
Our attendees consisted of several<br />
of us “old timers” as well as former<br />
Mavericks and new Mavericks.<br />
First on the scene was B.J. and<br />
John Harvey . . . they even beat me,<br />
which reminded me of the old saying<br />
“It’s Five O’clock Somewhere.”<br />
Also early in the crowd were Tracey<br />
and Ed Gross from Austin. It was<br />
great visiting with them for the<br />
second time this month. Bobbie<br />
and I had a chance to see them<br />
at the Rolex Series race in Austin<br />
in early of March. Tracey and Ed<br />
were great contributors to the<br />
Maverick Region a few years ago,<br />
filling our calendar with fun as<br />

they managed our “Hospitality<br />
Team.” They are still very active<br />
PCA members in Central Texas.<br />
We were also happy to meet Torben<br />
and Cecilia Nielsen, attending<br />
their first Happy Hour. Torben recently<br />
purchased 2004 Anniversary<br />
Edition 911 in New Jersey and had<br />
the thrill of driving it back to Texas.<br />
