Drafting: Volunteers Needed

Yes, you saw that right: this
month’s article is about DRAFT-
ING, as in drafting YOU!
We’re in need of a few volunteers
to help fill our positions in
the club. Here are the primary
positions that I’m aware of:
• Slipstream Editor(s): Our Slipstream Editor,
Carey Spreen, is retiring from the job, but
not leaving the area, and he is ready and
willing to train his replacement(s). Ideally,
we would like to have an editor and an assistant
editor to handle the monthly job of
putting our monthly journal together.
• Autocross Chair: Our Autocross and Time
Trial Chair, (yes, he has done BOTH for the
last few years) Travis Howard, is also not leaving
the area but is stepping down from those
posts. He and Robyn are already working on
a schedule for next year but we need some
volunteers to step-up and fill those positions
• Time Trial Chair: See above . . .
• Autocross and Time Trial Registrar: Robyn
Howard has faithfully managed the email
invites, calendar and registrations for
these events. Robyn will train her replacement
as our registrar for the events.
• Graphic Artist: We are looking for someone
who can create ads and flyers for our website
and newsletter to promote
our own Regional events
throughout the year.

Mav of the Month
Some people just keep on giving back to the club,
again and again. Such is the case of Linda Bambina,
whose non-stop energy keeps our club growing and
glowing. Since Linda retired as a teacher, she has made
a full-time job out of being our Public Relations Chair.
Most recently, she helped Richard
Solomon drive our charity event in
Tyler, Texas, which raised $10,000
for the Tyler Junior College Ron
Wakefield Scholarship, and over
$4,000 for our own Huffaker-
Hughes Hope House charity. Her
Drive, Energy, Enthusiasm and
Passion makes her DEEP as a
continuous contributor to our club,
and as a great human being. So
when you see Linda, please thank
her for all her work. And Linda:
enjoy your gift card to the Silver
Fox restaurant in Grapevine. You
deserve it!
