Truncheon, c. 1860s, stamped<br />

“Parker/233 Holborn” on top of<br />

handle, with Arms represent<strong>in</strong>g Cross<br />

of St. George and emblem of City’s<br />

Patron, St. Paul, excellent condition.<br />

*These truncheons were wielded dur<strong>in</strong>g the<br />

Chartist Riots of 1868 and dur<strong>in</strong>g the 1868<br />

Fenian Upris<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

<strong>66</strong>. Royal Cookery, or the Compleat Court-Book, conta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g the Choicest Receipts <strong>in</strong> all the<br />

Several Branches of Cookery, c.1720, Patrick Lamb, with pull out illustrations of the most<br />

famous late 17 th century Feasts, bound <strong>in</strong> leather, good condition and rare.<br />

*Patrick Lamb began his career work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the royal household as a child. In 1677 he advanced to<br />

become Master Cook to the Queen Consort and six years later he became a Royal Cook to the K<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

His particular skills were <strong>in</strong> the production of lavish feasts to celebrate royal events.<br />
