Naples welcomes the IDF Musical Ensemble
On Tuesday, December 13, the
Friends of the Israel Defense
Forces (FIDF) Greater Miami
Chapter held “A Day to Salute Our
Soldiers,” an event honoring the soldiers
of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF)
featuring the IDF Musical Ensemble.
The event was held at Temple Shalom
in Naples and co-chaired by Rick and
Ellaine Rosen.
The IDF Musical Ensemble, a fiveperson
singing group composed of active-duty
soldiers in the IDF, performed
at the event. The ensemble performs in
any and all locations where IDF forces
are stationed. Additionally, the ensemble
puts on shows on a voluntary basis
for civilian populations. They sang and
danced to a wide variety of traditional
Israeli and Jewish songs.
Also in attendance was
Lieutenant Noam Litt of
the IDF, who gave a stirring
and inspirational speech
about his experience as
a tank commander in the
Israeli Army.
Rick and Ellaine Rosen
spoke about the FIDF’s
IMPACT Scholarship Program
for combat soldiers
and their experience on the
FIDF’s Poland and Israel mission. They
invited guests to join the FIDF’s upcoming
mission, which will occur from
April 24 - May 3, 2017.
The event was sponsored by Beth
Tikvah, the Holocaust Museum &
Education Center of Southwest Florida,
the Jewish Congregation of Marco Island,
the Jewish Federation of Collier
County, the Jewish Federation of Lee
and Charlotte Counties, Naples Jewish
Congregation, Temple Shalom, the
Women’s Cultural Alliance, and the
Zionist Organization of America.
