2015 FINDINGS I liked learning about GPS systems and working with carbon fiber. I enjoyed learning how to use the program for drones. This week I really enjoyed Geocaching! Geocaching was fun, I got some pretty cool stuff. I enjoyed mapping and geo-referencing with my group. I really enjoyed working with my community. I liked learning about GIS skills the best this week. Working with the UAV group and also working on the Prezi. I liked that we learned to become better leaders. 2015 FINDINGS The QGIS lesson, the information was very useful and stimulating. am looking forward to more. I liked how we learned more about applying for college and scholarships. I liked the only time we went to the GIS class. GIS is very fun software program to use and I can't wait to use it when I go home. Students also had an opportunity to share what they have learned each week. The tables below reflect what students have taken away from the class. What did you learn this week? Please tell us in 3 or 4 sentences. The following comments are illustrative of what students have learned so far in the class: I learned about the GIS. We could become GIS workers. We can get to travel to different places. I learned that a quadcopter can't weigh more than 55 pounds and how to work more with wires and learned how to solder too. I love being in this class. I learned how to make an essay better. I also learned how obtaining scholarships is different from everyone. The FAFSA is very important and it needs to be renewed in January. I learned how to become a stronger leader. I learned the concept of setting and completing a goal. I learned a little about GIS. I learned how to collect data and use it to make a map. It's all fun. I learned more about the Geo-referencing in the GIS class. I also learned to make Prezis with my community and my learning skills are improving. I learned that we can use the quadcopters to make them fly themselves. I really liked that. I also learned that they can idle in the air, just sit for as long as we want. This week in my class we all flew our first built drones a little bit and we are going to be building much bigger drones which is very exciting! I learned what CR and SAR stands for. CR means corner reflector. SAR Synthetic Aperture Radar. I had fun learning this week. This week I had fun and learned new things. I learned how to Geo-tag and what Geo- caching is. We just went Geocaching yesterday and it was fun. I Lastly, students were asked each week ‘what would you change to make the class better?’ Most students reported that they did not want to change the class at all or that they preferred to keep the class the same. Below are a few examples. I would not really change anything because it's cool. 30
