51. Four Analytical Knowledges<br />
Catasraḥ pratisaṁvidaḥ, tad-yathā:<br />
<strong>The</strong>re are four analytical knowledges, they are:<br />
{1} <strong>Dharma</strong>-pratisaṁvid-<br />
{1} <strong>The</strong> analytical knowledge of the way things are,<br />
{2} artha-pratisaṁvin-<br />
{2} the analytical knowledge of meaning, 14<br />
{3} nirukti-pratisaṁvit-<br />
{3} the analytical knowledge of language,<br />
{4} pratibhāna-pratisaṁvic-ceti.<br />
{4} the analytical knowledge of inspired speech.<br />
Catasro dhāraṇyaḥ, tad-yathā:<br />
<strong>The</strong>re are four charms, they are:<br />
{1} Ātma-dhāraṇī,<br />
{1} A charm known to oneself,<br />
{2} grantha-dhāraṇī,<br />
{2} a charm known from a book,<br />
{3} dharma-dhāraṇī,<br />
{3} a charm known from the dharma,<br />
{4} mantra-dhāraṇī ceti.<br />
{4} and a charm known from a spell.<br />
