Aṣṭau vimokṣāḥ, tad-yathā:<br />

59. Eight Liberations<br />

{1} Rūpī rūpāṇī paśyati śūnyaṁ,<br />

{1} One having form perceives forms as empty,<br />

{2} ādhyātmā-rūpa-sañjñī bahirdhā-rūpāṇi paśyati śūnyaṁ,<br />

{2} not perceiving forms internally, one perceives forms externally as empty,<br />

{3} {śubham-eva adhimukto paśyati śūnyaṁ,} 17<br />

{3} {one perceives being resolved on beauty as empty,}<br />

{4} ākāśānanty-āyatanaṁ paśyati śūnyaṁ,<br />

{4} one perceives the sphere of endless space as empty,<br />

{5} vijñānānanty-āyatanaṁ paśyati śūnyaṁ,<br />

{5} one perceives the sphere of endless consciousness as empty,<br />

{6} ākiñcany-āyatanaṁ paśyati śūnyaṁ, [13]<br />

{6} one perceives the sphere of nothingness as empty,<br />

{7} naiva-saṁjñā-nāsaṁjñāyatanaṁ paśyati śūnyaṁ,<br />

{7} one perceives the sphere of neither-perception-nor-non-perception as empty,<br />

{8} saṁjñā-vedayita-nirodhaṁ paśyati śūnyaṁ ceti.<br />

{8} one perceives the sphere of the cessation of perception and feeling as empty.<br />

60. Five (Things) having Immediate Consequence<br />

Pañcānantaryāṇi, tad-yathā:<br />

<strong>The</strong>re are five (things) having immediate consequence, they are:<br />

{1} -vadhaḥ,<br />

{1} Matricide,<br />

{2} -vadho<br />

{2} patricide,<br />

{3} ’rhad-vadhas-<br />

{3} killing an arhat,<br />

{4} Tathāgata-duṣṭa-citta-rudhirotpādaḥ,<br />

{4} with corrupt mind causing a Realised One’s blood to flow,<br />
