Pharmacists in Smoking Cessation

Dates have just been announced for
United Drug’s Pharmacy Show 2017,
which will take place at the Aviva
Stadium, Dublin from Sunday, 23rd April
to Tuesday, 25th April 2017.
The Pharmacy Show is the number one exhibition event in the
pharmacy retail sector, attracting sell-out crowds every year. It is
a great platform for pharmacists to meet with manufacturers and
suppliers, and take advantage of exclusive products and promotions.
Now in its 11th year, the Pharmacy Show is the premier event in the
pharmacy retail calendar. Looking forward to this year’s event, Ann
Walsh, Marketing Manager at United Drug, said: “The Pharmacy
Show is a key event for us and our industry each year. It is a wonderful
opportunity to meet with industry colleagues, to showcase new
promotions, learn about new products and launches and spend

Each year the Pharmacy Show offers an engaging and interactive
experience for pharmacists and pharmacy retail staff. For example,
in previous years, attendees could walk through a state-of-the-art
‘pharmacy of the future.’ Last year, the focus was on technology and
on the innovation that was driving future trends in retail as seen in
the US and Europe.
This year’s Pharmacy Show will continue the focus on digital
innovation, showcasing United Drug’s continuing investment in
technology to maintain its high standards in terms of stock range,
customer service and delivery.
A €15m investment in technology and automation has already
increased United Drug’s distribution efficiency by almost two-thirds.
A further €1 million investment is being made in upgrading the
warehouse HVAC system.

its business promise ‘to deliver the products you need, when you
need them, at a fair price.’
Ann continued: “At United Drug, we are very proud that our tote
ordering system, based in our Dublin depot, delivers an average
of 15,000 totes nationwide to more than 2,000 customers per day.
Each tote travels a distance of 1km from warehouse shelf to delivery
truck – combined, that’s a total distance equivalent to a journey from
Dublin to Perth,
Australia.”

At this year’s Pharmacy Show, attendees can look forward to a
sumptuous dining experience in the Presidents Area at the Aviva
Stadium, with accommodation provided in the nearby Clayton Hotel
Burlington Road (formerly the Burlington Hotel).
The Pharmacy Show is expected to attract large numbers again this
year and space is limited; closing date for exhibitors is 24 February
and for pharmacists is 16th March 2017.
