Online discussion group<br />

There are 575 members registered on the online discussion group, a 14% increase on last year.<br />

Committee meetings<br />

No formal face-to-face committee meeting this year; all communication has been by email and telephone conversation.<br />

In 2016, we welcomed Heather Bury on to our committee.<br />

Expert Professional Practice & Collaborative Working Relationships<br />

Attendance (as UKCPA representative) at the “Working together for Older People: National collaborative learning event”<br />

on 8th December 2015 in London<br />

Christina Short will be representing the UKCPA on the Royal College of Physician’s Falls and Fragility Fracture Audit<br />

Programme.<br />

Leadership<br />

Group input into the consultation on the RPS Faculty Practice Based Assessment requirements<br />

Annual Review of previously-released Professional Curriculum for Advanced Practice in Care of Older People – this<br />

document continues to be endorsed by the British Geriatrics Society.<br />

Education, Training & Development<br />

Since the date of the last annual report, the Group has run a masterclass entitled “Medicines Optimisation across the<br />

Interface” at the RPS in London on 20 th September 2016. This was attended by 32 delegates. On-the-day feedback was<br />

very positive with lots of delegate interaction throughout the meeting.<br />

Research & Evaluation<br />

Acting as a reviewer for a UKCPA-PRUK Clinical Pharmacy Research Grant application<br />

The Group has contributed to all recent editions of In Practice<br />

Reviewer of elderly care research for Pharmaceutical Journal articles<br />

Group funds<br />

The income generated from this year’s Masterclass has not been used on any extra activities.<br />
