Expert Professional Practice & Collaborative Working Relationships<br />
Shelley Jones is part of the NHSE Immunoglobulin Working Group.<br />
Shelley Jones is the pharmacist representative on the Neuro CRG and Rachel Dorsey-Campbell is working with the<br />
Neuro CRG on an MS project including the disease modifying therapy pathway and stop criteria.<br />
Shelley Jones and Ben Dorward contributed to the development of a CPPE Focal Point package for epilepsy.<br />
Ben Dorward presented a talk on the challenges of medicines optimisation in epilepsy as a representative of the<br />
Neurosciences group at a Pharmacy Management conference in November 2015. He also adjudicated a poster award at<br />
that conference on behalf of UKCPA.<br />
The committee members are establishing links with key neurological charities to raise awareness of the UKCPA<br />
neurosciences group and establish links:<br />
Rachel Dorsey-Campbell has represented the UKCPA by her involvement in the MS Trust Forward View project. The<br />
UKCPA has endorsed the final document to be produced from this work.<br />
Joela Mathews and Shelley Jones are part of the Parkinson’s Excellence Network with Parkinson’s UK<br />
Joela Mathews has met with the Brain and Spine Foundation and is to attend their next meeting<br />
Joela Mathews attended the Association of British Neurologists (ABN) Autumn Conference to promote the UKCPA<br />
neurosciences group<br />
All committee members discuss the role of the UKCPA when meeting representatives from pharmaceutical companies.<br />
Leadership<br />
Rachel Dorsey-Campbell has represented the UKCPA for the MS Trust Forward View Project; she also received the<br />
award of outstanding pharmacist at the QuDoS in MS awards.<br />
Through Olivia Moswela, the group has fed into several NICE consultations.<br />
Education, Training & Development<br />
Joela Mathews gave a talk on multiple sclerosis at the April 2016 Clinical Pharmacy Congress on behalf of the<br />
Neuroscience group.<br />
Ben Dorward provided a talk on the peri-operative drug management of neurological diseases at the UKCPA Surgery &<br />
Theatres Group Masterclass in September 2016<br />
All committee members include their role as UKCPA committee members when providing teaching, such as<br />
undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy teaching, RPS LPF teaching.<br />
Joela Mathews is the group’s representative for the KIT curricula review.<br />
