stewardship. This took place on Friday 4th March in Birmingham. The event was attended by 80 delegates and had a<br />
waiting list of over 20 people. Feedback from delegates and sponsors was very positive. Sponsors were Astellas,<br />

At the Clinical Pharmacy Training Day in November 2016 in Manchester, Adel Sheikh presented on Back to basics: an<br />

Diane Ashiru-Oredope ran a worksession on how to use social media professionally and Tejal Vaghela presented on how<br />
to develop and present research and audit at conferences.<br />

UKCPA PIN hosted a parallel session chaired by Jacqueline Sneddon entitled Implementation of the antimicrobial<br />

The Clinical Pharmacy Congress, April 2016, London<br />
Jacqueline Sneddon hosted an RPS session talk on Antimicrobial stewardship – how pharmacists are helping to combat<br />
antimicrobial resistance. Kieran Hand discussed Hospital treatment of community-acquired pneumonia and acute<br />
exacerbations of COPD: the evidence, while Emma Cramp spoke about Innovation within Antimicrobial stewardship.<br />
ECCMID, April 2016, Amsterdam<br />
The European Congress on Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Conference (ECCMID) took place in Amsterdam<br />
on 8th-10th April 2016. Some of the PIN committee members who presented posters are Diane Ashiru-Oredope,<br />
Jacqueline Sneddon, Phil Howard, Mark Gilchrist and Tejal Vaghela. Please see appendix for poster titles.<br />
European Association of Hospital Pharmacists, March 2016, Vienna<br />
The European Association of Hospital Pharmacists Annual Conference held in Vienna during March 2016 was attended<br />
by Jacqueline Sneddon, Mark Gilchrist and Hayley Wickens. They each ran workshop sessions on optimising<br />
antimicrobial therapy and the role of pharmacists in addressing AMR.<br />
Research & Evaluation<br />
Committee member Jon Urch wrote articles for all issues of In Practice during 2016.<br />
Hayley Wickens and Laura Whitney judged the Astellas Antimicrobial Award 2016.<br />
Laura Whitney peer reviewed an application for the UKCPA research grant.<br />
Diane Ashiru-Oredope, Jacqueline Sneddon and Emma Cramp judged some of the entries for the Antibiotic Guardian<br />
Awards.<br />
