Open House and Pancake Breakfast has huge turn-out
Thank you to WMT for broadcasting the
camp's breakfast/open houses live, twice
a year! John Laton, the General Manager,
along with the entire staff have been wonderful
to camp! (L-R) Jim Beard, Honorary Board
Member Leo Greco, and Andy Petersen…a
super combination!!!
The Durant Royal Neighbors of America had
their national office match what they collected
locally for Camp Courageous. They also
donated some great teddy bears for campers.
A wonderful group we are so grateful to!!!
(L-R) Bernice Koberg of Walcott and Eleanor
their continued
Here Cecil
Oldridge of Cedar
Rapids presents
a check to camp
on the behalf of
the foundation.
Camp Courageous is very grateful to Lisa
Charley, Marketing Coordinator of Runde Auto
Group, and Rundes for their donation of a $500
Lowe's Gift Card to buy many of the supplies
the camp needs along with bags of footballs
and monkeys for the campers. A wonderful
group that have been long-time supporters.
It is always a treat to have the Two Rivers Sams attend a breakfast! They come in numbers and
along with a nice check, they made quilts, hats, and gloves for the campers. Wonderful group!
Bob and Nellie Vetter and their son, Dick Vetter
are regular workers at the camp's breakfasts
and open houses. Dick actually celebrated his
68th birthday at the breakfast with a lodge full
of breakfast goers singing Happy Birthday to
Dick. Bob and Nellie are in their 90s and are
real hard workers! Great family!
The breakfast isn't over until we see our good
friends from the Iron Pegasus. This great
group comes for each breakfast, not only
to eat but to clean-up the mess. They are a
breath of fresh air, after a long day!
Greater Cedar Rapids Open selects
Camp Courageous as primary
charity of their annual event
Camp Courageous was very
fortunate to be this year’s primary
beneficiary of the Greater Cedar
Rapids Open. The Greater Cedar
Rapids Open was created in 1999
thanks to the incredible efforts of
Mark Lemon and Jim McPartland.
Each year this event is held at
the Hunter’s Ridge Golf Course in
Marion and each year it gets bigger
and better. Zach Johnson was one of
the first to win this event in 2001.
Thank you to the board of directors
of the GCRO for being so good to
Camp Courageous over the years!
